The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), in partnership with Halal Development Corporation (HDC) and supported by Capital Markets Malaysia (CMM), hosted the SC-HDC Workshop 2022 to increase awareness of alternative ways for MSMEs to raise funds, specifically through equity crowdfunding (ECF) and peer-to-peer financing (P2P financing). The Workshop brought together recognized market operators (RMOs) approved by the SC to help Shariah-compliant fundraising activities, share knowledge and advise MSMEs on raising funds through their platforms. Additionally, the Workshop showcased companies that have successfully raised funds through ECF and P2P financing. The Workshop targets MSMEs in the halal industry who could benefit from capital market funding avenues and alternative financing, especially through ECF and P2P financing.
