Cofundr at APU Fintech Day 2025: Building Talent for the Digital Economy

8 July 2025

Cofundr was proud to be part of Day 2 of APU Fintech Day 2025, which also marked the official launch of Asia Pacific University’s new FinTech Degree programme.

The day featured two engaging panel discussions with speakers from GX Bank, Kenanga Investment Bank, and Cofundr who shared their perspectives on the theme “Building Talent for the Digital Economy.”

Representing Cofundr, our colleague offered insights from a business-side lens on how talent is being developed and upskilled in the rapidly evolving digital finance space. Drawing on our extensive work with MSMEs, we highlighted the struggles smaller businesses face in securing financing, and the importance of good record-keeping and offering value-added services to improve their chances.

We also emphasized the importance of soft skills, mindset, and character beyond just technical knowledge in preparing students to thrive in the fintech sector. With Malaysia’s fintech industry still young, qualities like strong work ethic, effective communication and innovation are vital for future talent.

Cofundr remains committed not only to serving underserved MSMEs but also to supporting initiatives like APU Fintech Day, which bridges academia and industry to prepare the next generation of fintech leaders.
